In December 2014, Microsoft bought one of my favorite email apps, Acompli. Outlook is essentially that app with a new skin on it. Still, this is the most robust and most refined email app out there — you can create quick filters for your flagged and unread emails and check out all the attachments and files that have been emailed to you in one dedicated folder. It also gives you tabs for your calendar and contacts, which are nice additions that improve productivity.

  1. This is the dumbest article ever. Instead of these third party apps that destroy the whole concept of continuity, keep using Apple’s apps because continuity is a feature.

  2. Outlook is the least user friendly shittiest email ever. And this endorsement is My Daily beast 1st impression? Unfollow. Click

  3. This article should have been renamed: drop the iWork’s suite and pickup MS Office. The whole MS Office and Outlook ‘experience’ is the sole reason I switched over to Apple in the first place!

  4. Obviously written by an Android owner who switched to iPhone but hates Apple. The author is willing to use ANY product instead of Apple’s.

  5. Outlook for iOS is surprisingly better than the Mac version. However, my vote for the best iOS email app would be Airmail. The iOS and Mac experiences are both good and it offers all the options I love.

  6. I disagree with about half of your choices. Spotify is a mess. Apple Music is better designed. How can you possibly like Spotify’s GUI?

  7. Not an Outlook fan but do agree that Google Maps is better. I use Evernote for filing different content into categories and sub categories and find this app extremely useful. Unbelievable that anyone would suggest that Spotify is better then Apple Music. The other apps didn’t really matter so much to me.
